Description

The SXV Blow Off Valve is designed to ensure the ultimate reliability, performance, and protection for your Can Am turbo.

Configured specifically for use on Can Am Maverick X3 Turbo models, the SXV is supplied with silicone vacuum hose and a manifold tap. The trumpet outlet ensures a blow off sound like no other, and also allows fitment of an optional filter (sold separately) for added protection.

NOTE: Installation of the SXV requires an aftermarket charge pipe with a 25mm (1″) blow off valve mounting provision. GFB offers such a charge pipe fGFB 5711 Blow Off Valve filteror 2020-2024 Can Am, which is available separately (part # 5110-BLK).

Optional Outlet Filter:

If you run your Can Am in wet or dirty environments, GFB’s 5711 foam filter offers additional protection.

Why Install a GFB SXV?

Turbo protection:

Unlike most turbo engines, the Maverick does not have a factory-fitted bypass or blow off valve. When you close the throttle, boost pressure has nowhere to go except back out through the turbo. The resulting compressor surge places rapidly oscillating loads on the turbo’s compressor blades and thrust bearings, which can lead to premature wear or failure. The more boost you run, the worse this issue becomes.

Adding a BOV (blow-off valve) into the turbo system relieves excess pressure when you lift off the throttle, thereby eliminating compressor surge to protect your turbo.

However, not all BOVs are created equal. A cheaply manufactured or poorly designed BOV can cause more issues than it solves.

GFB’s SXV offers lightning-fast response speed and a huge flow capacity for the best possible turbo protection. The spring pre-load adjustment allows you to fine-tune the venting sensitivity and throttle response, and our uncompromising approach to design and manufacturing means unlike other brands regular lubrication and o-ring replacement are NOT required.

Sound!

If turbo protection, throttle response, and reliability are the cake, the sound is the icing!

Stand out from the pack with the unique sound of a GFB SXV. The supplied trumpet creates louder and more aggressive sound than others on the market, and features a 38mm (1.5”) collar that allows you to fit a filter if you choose to run one.

GFB’s filter is available separately (part # 5711) and is significantly larger than the “valve cover breather” filters used on other brands. This ensures the flow capacity of the valve is not compromised, nor is the sound!

If the unique sound is not to your taste, you can purchase a standard outlet for the more classic “whoosh” sound. We suggest our 38mm (1.5”) outlet part # 5238 to ensure it is compatible with the same filter as the trumpet, but we have outlets available in other common sizes too if you want to use a different size filter or hose.
